Life....

"The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them." Paulo Coelho

Life is a funny thing. No one knows
where it's going to lead you or how it's going to turn out. I've been fortunate enough to meet so many wonderful people in the last 6 months who have embraced me and taught me many things. There are always ups and downs, but what one must never forget is this: "Whatever you take out of life is what it'll give back to you".  I am so grateful for what I have and what I've been able to do, but it's the unspoken actions that we perform that go the furthest.  It's the doing and giving in the shadows without anyone noticing that is the most rewarding.

In life we experience many different battles and difficulties, but we will always persevere. Our strength and determination will allow us to conquer those feelings of despair and anguish.  One must draw strength from their own self  and the help of others to move forward. When you are able to find peace within yourself, your heart will start to mend and allow you to move forward. Find that peace, and happiness will follow.....

It's typically during difficult periods that we take a greater appreciation of the moments we have with our family, friends, and life.  Never (EVER) take it for granted, and most importantly make sure to enjoy each & every moment!!

We don't know when our time will come. It may be many years down the road or it could suddenly come tomorrow.  Life can change in an instant and many times we will only be left with regrets. The unknown is only scary if you let it be.  So LIVE each and every day as if it was your last....it will be magical!

Live it. Embrace it. Cherish it.

Languages

Sorry this was one from Africa - a bit delayed.....

One doesn't need to understand a language to be able to understand it.  It's the same with hearing impaired children, when one uses sign language, there are other ways of speaking with one another.  Yesterday (Feb. 27th) when a teacher came in to teach Bible class, No words were spoken at all, but it was such a BEAUTIFUL scene to see. The children were sooo engaged and they loved every moment of it! Another language of the world :)

Whether its through words, hands, or a simple smile, one can transcend barriers and touch others.......

Roads....

My "Hakuna Matata Mantra" took form in Africa, and has been doing well here in Italy in keeping up spirits. It's a different part of my travels, but one that will be very rewarding in many ways.

We will cross many different paths along our life's journey and will learn much from the people we meet - don't ever dismiss something because it is "different", or not the way you do it, or the way you like. Our way may not necessarily be the right way ;) One never knows where the road will lead them, but take in everything it gives you (good or bad) as it will only make you stronger and wiser.

Things don't happen by coincidence and there are reasons we meet certain people along the way. It could be as simple as bumping into someone and choosing a book, or seeing a movie, maybe you were inspired/motivated by them, or possibly you smiled and brightened their day. You may even meet (or have met) your soul mate along that path. Heck you may even know them and they are there waiting. Whatever it is.....grasp the opportunities and go forward!!

Before leaving on my journey one of my best friends gave me this piece advice: "......I hope you enjoy every minute and every moment you ask/say "WTF". Enjoy the highs for what they are, but also the lows because they make those good moments feel that much better." It's been the BEST piece of advice I received on my journey.....something we should all listen to!
