What an experience this was. I was lucky enough to spend a day with each of the classrooms in the school - hearing impaired, visually impaired, and the intellectually impaired children. For the duration of my stay, I ended up helping teach the hearing impaired kids. It was crazy, I was in the midst of not only learning the Swahili Language, but also learning sign language. By the end of the first week I could sign both the alphabet and numbers (up to 100). It was an interesting way of communicating, but as everyone knows Italians are always speaking with their hands :)
